nited to answer their calling of being in
service for the country and its people, the Class 39 – 2012 of the Philippine
Army Officer Candidate Course is composed of 34 Officer Candidates (30 males
and 4 females). Chosen among more than 2000 applicants nationwide, the PAOCC CL
39 has 8 of its members coming from the island of Luzon, 12 from Visayas, and
14 from Mindanao.
Coat of Arms
The class’ visual symbol took many
weeks to be completed. This particular image depicts the values and ideals that
the class aims to practice.
SPEAR – The spear symbolizes power. Not the destructing kind of power, but
the power to inspire people to the road of resiliency and a combination of
self-sufficiency and interdependency .
KNIGHT – the knight represents a warrior with formidable
determination.
3 STARS - each star symbolizes Luzon,
Visayas, and Mindanao, the three main islands of the Philippines.
SABER – the saber symbolizes bravery, which every member of the class should
embody.
34 LAUREL LEAVES – each leaf represents every member of the Kabalikat
class.
TORCH – the torch represents enlightenment and hope.
SUN
– the sun symbolizes respect for impartial authority.
CHAIN – the chain represents the chain of command.
BOOK – the book symbolizes knowledge.
WINGS – the presence of wings denotes aspiration for greater heights and
accomplishments. It follows the value of Magis which can be manifested by
“doing more”.
RAYS IN TRIANGLE FORM – represents the class’ unity amidst diversity in
backgrounds.
EXERCITO PATRIA NOSTRA – translated as “The Army is Our Homeland.”
CLASS COLOR
Gray is the color that is a mixture
of the colors black and white, the two most extreme colors on the color
spectrum. Gray symbolizes the union of both extremes and stands as a whole new
color that represents the absence as well as the presence of all the other
colors. The color Gray is a symbol of unity and adaptability. It embraces every
shade from both extremes with such magnificence that it still maintains its own
distinctiveness among the other colors.
CLASS MOTTO: Out of so many, came so few.
CLASS SONG
The class has chosen the song BITIW
by Spongecola. The song is performed by a Filipino rock band with lyrics
written in Filipino language.
BITIW
Tama
walang laglagan
At sama-samang hanapin ang liwanag
At tayo’y magpapaalon sa isang daluyong
Na maghahatid sa atin
Sa isang mahabang panaginip
‘di na hihinto
At sama-samang hanapin ang liwanag
At tayo’y magpapaalon sa isang daluyong
Na maghahatid sa atin
Sa isang mahabang panaginip
‘di na hihinto
[Chorus
1]
‘wag kang bibitiw bigla
‘wag kang bibitiw bigla
Higpitan lang ang ‘yong kapit
Maglalayag patungong langit
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/sponge_cola/bitiw.html ]
Teka, kaya ba natin ‘to
Kung hindi na’y aakayin ka’t
Itatayo ‘yun-’yon
‘wag kang bibitiw bigla
‘wag kang bibitiw bigla
Higpitan lang ang ‘yong kapit
Maglalayag patungong langit
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/sponge_cola/bitiw.html ]
Teka, kaya ba natin ‘to
Kung hindi na’y aakayin ka’t
Itatayo ‘yun-’yon
Kaya
hanggang ngayon
Tuloy-tuloy, tuloy-tuloy, tuloy
[Repeat chorus 1]
[Chorus 2]
‘wag kang bibitiw bigla
Pikit ang ‘yong mga mata
Higpitan lang ang ‘yong kapit
Maglalayag patungong langit
Ating tinig, ating himig
Abot langit
Heto na tayo (heto na tayo) 2x
[Repeat chorus 1 & 2]
Heto na tayo (heto na tayo) 3x
Tuloy-tuloy, tuloy-tuloy, tuloy
[Repeat chorus 1]
[Chorus 2]
‘wag kang bibitiw bigla
Pikit ang ‘yong mga mata
Higpitan lang ang ‘yong kapit
Maglalayag patungong langit
Ating tinig, ating himig
Abot langit
Heto na tayo (heto na tayo) 2x
[Repeat chorus 1 & 2]
Heto na tayo (heto na tayo) 3x
THE KABALIKAT OF EVERY FILIPINO
The OCC CL 39-12 has chosen the word
“KABALIKAT” as their class name. KABALIKAT means KAagapay ng Bayan at LIngkod
ng KATarungan. Thus, the Kabalikat class deem themselves as Filipinos who are
ever ready to take part in nation-building by enforcing justice and genuine
service to the Filipino nation.
Members of the Kabalikat class may
have different origins, traits, and personalities. These individual
differences, however, have no amount compared to their calling. The urge to
live a life of sacrifice and service to the nation and its people still
outweighs those insignificant individual differences. This is because every
Kabalikat knows very well that despite the many problems that are being faced by
this nation, there is still hope. And every Kabalikat is very willing to be
part of that hope. Every Kabalikat is a Hope of our nation. B
