ime is precious that its value is even being equaled to that of
gold. But unlike gold, time is one thing, one element that no human being can actually
hold with both hands. Its intangible nature only allows us to either chase or
wait for it.
Eleven months. Eleven
months of training, of learning. Of those eleven months that we spent as
Officer Candidates, we have built a tight bond among ourselves because of the
experiences that we went through. We experienced a roller coaster of emotions
and important realizations that would undeniably help us in molding ourselves
to become better individuals. And as we leave the portals of our school, let us
bring with us every learning that we gained not just from the manuals that we
read and from the lectures that we attended but, most importantly, from the
whole experience of being a KABALIKAT itself. With this comes the acceptance
that we carry with us certain responsibilities as servant-leaders of the
Filipino people. We must never forget that being role models to every Filipino
is part of our responsibility as officers of the Philippine Army. We have so
much to give and still have so much to learn. Let us continue to be students of
life and use life’s lessons in becoming the very best version of ourselves;
never ever forget that the ultimate aim is not to beat the person next to you
but to have the courage to transcend and defeat yourself.
We can never tell how
much time is left for us. But as long as we are still breathing let us
appreciate how beautiful and meaningful life is. We may go on separate ways and
be assigned to different units. It may take a long time for us to get together,
or we may never see each other again. Despite that, let us take the courage to
do what we do best and do our share in making this nation a better place. Let
us straighten our gaits for we are our nation’s hope. B
